Q&A

A few things to know about LiveTa.

What do I need to use LiveTa?

An iPhone with iOS 17+, TeslaMate and the dedicated LiveTa Connector over HTTPS.

Does it work with any TeslaMate API?

LiveTa requires its own connector; other TeslaMate APIs are not drop-in replacements.

Will Live Activities always update in the background?

Updates depend on iOS scheduling, network access and your connector. Continuous background refresh is not guaranteed.

Can LiveTa control my car?

LiveTa reads data and does not send vehicle control commands.

Where can I download it?

LiveTa is in TestFlight testing and is not publicly available on the App Store. Test access requires a valid invitation.

What can widgets show?

Choose vehicle status, driving and charging statistics, your latest trip or your latest charge. Statistics have a configurable day range. Widgets display shared app snapshots and may show the last known record when fresh data is unavailable.

How does route learning work?

Completed route history can help choose familiar reference routes. Learning can be disabled or reset, and toll preferences can be changed. Apple Maps reference routes may differ from the route shown in your car.

How are vehicle alerts delivered?

Local reminders require iOS to let the app receive new events. Remote notifications require an APNs-enabled build and a configured connector. Notification rules and quiet hours are configurable.

Is battery health an official Tesla measurement?

No. Health, capacity and full-charge range are estimates based on available history and your reference settings.

Which vehicle alerts can I choose?

Configure Sentry, charging, charge-target, tire-pressure, trip and parking reminders, along with quiet hours and reminder thresholds.

Can I change the main Home gauge?

Tap the main gauge to switch between battery percentage and remaining range. Battery health remains visible below it.

Does one-command setup configure everything?

The script detects database, MQTT and network settings and builds the API. It is still in testing. HTTPS, account sign-in and pairing, shared galleries and APNs remote push need their own configuration; full automation is not guaranteed in every environment.

Will uploaded photos be public?

For each photo, you must actively agree to make the photo and station location public, then confirm upload. Ordinary submissions become public after review. You can remove your photos, report content or block uploaders. Uploaders keep their rights.

Can I sync personal records between phones?

Supported versions let you manually upload or restore records in Settings for the same API and vehicle. Other phones authorized for that vehicle can read uploaded snapshots, so share your backend only with trusted users. Push tokens and enablement permissions are not transferred.
